Lake Las Vegas Homes and Real Estate for Sale
In 1960, Carlton Adair and the National
Park Service exchanged land giving Adair 2,245 acres of canyon
land in exchange for his property on Lake Mead. Thus, the vision
for Lake Las Vegas was born.
In 1990 with the completion of an eighteen-story, 4,800 foot
long dam with water from Lake Meade, two miles away, the lake
was created by filling the canyon in the hilly high desert countryside.
Lake Las Vegas has a depth of 145 feet and an elevation of 1,400
feet above sea level. This 320-acre lake with 10 miles of shoreline
is the largest man-made lake in Nevada.

The $4 billion Lake Las Vegas master-planned community
has been developed by Transcontinental Properties. It is 17
miles from the "strip". The two distinct neighborhoods
at Lake Las Vegas are Northshore which is a destination resort
area and Southshore, a residential neighborhood.
The signature resort village of MonteLago, developed by Intrawest,
focuses on the harbor and is modeled after the waterfront villages
of Europe. There is a Pontevecchio-style bridge spanning the
lake. With the winding cobblestone streets, quiet piazzas, charming
shops and picturesque waterfront walkways, you may just think
you are in Europe.
Lake Las Vegas also has two private Jack Nicholas-designed
golf courses with incredible views, a luxury 500-room Hyatt
Regency Resort, and a private yacht club and marina. Lot prices
start in the high $200,000's, condos are available in a luxury
hi-rise starting about $350,000 and homes range from about $600,000
to over $6,000,000. You can create your dream home and build
it among the mountains, alongside the Nicklaus-designed golf
courses, or along the shoreline of Lake Las Vegas. |
